I already had it set in my mind that I would jump at the opportunity to be a part of the Amazon show, I have watched the first season and knew the second season was filming.
I had to show up for 4:30 at TIFF theatres where we had a waiting room with rows of tables and chairs. This was a little different than the last one. I had to first off get my wardrobe checked, I had to dress in business casual with a light jacket and hat. I then had to line up for hair and makeup. The line up was slow but they would come out periodically and do a quick scan and approve people. I was approved for both hair and makeup. They weren’t too picky with background, but there was also a gala scene where people did need their makeup to be perfect.
So hair, makeup, and waiting. Then About 8:30 they announced lunch and the buffet opened. I did not jump on the buffet bandwagon. I planned to not feel bloated and gross all day and thought it would be a good opportunity to cut some calories.
I was at a table with some mundane conversation about the food and it turned into a conversation about what meat each of the guys had tried. I was focused on ready and getting caught up on emails. I’ll say it, some of these people are obnoxious.
By 10:30 we were finally heading out to set. It was at the TIFF condos and it was set up with read carpet and gala sort of signs. Limos were parked and we were the paparazzi along the red carpet. There were extras for crowd and also well dressed gala attendees for when the character walked in.
The scene will probably be about 3 minutes actually on screen, but we did numerous takes and were outside for about 2 hours total. It still amazes me the number of people involved for minutes of scene. We were let go at 12:30.
Watch for me, Season 2 Episode 6 of The Boys.
