Palermo, Italy
Our last stop of the cruise, one more sea day and we will be back on dry land…
We are in Palermo on the island of Sicily. It was just a high of 36º, and we felt it as we walked the streets. The city is much busier than Catania which seemed almost like a ghost town. Palermo is full of traffic and people and there was another ship in port too.
It is a really beautiful city so we walked as much as we could to see the major sites, Teatro Massimo, the stunning Quattro Canti (which is where the header video is taken), and then we went to the Palermo Cathedral.
Normally Brad will wait for me as I climb to the top of churches in the heat up the narrow swirling staircases, but he humored me and joined this time. When will we ever be back here? Nothing planned yet! The view was amazing and it was actually breezy on the roof of the church.
After the major sites, we high tailed it back to the ship. It was hot, we had sweat in places that looked like we wet our pants… well at least Brad did.
I’m sure there is much more to see, but this heat was a bit too much.
